Welcome Home Margaret!

Help us welcome Ms. Margaret Wilson back home for the first time since Hurricane Florence!

Ms. Margaret's home was flooded over the roof in September of 2018. It's been a long road for her. But thanks to many great organizations and hundreds of volunteer hours, she's heading home.

Venture Chuch is "adopting" Ms. Margaret's home and doing what we can to help fill it with many of the basics that we take for granted every day.

The Flood

Imagine losing everything you own overnight. That's what happened to dozens of families during the flooding caused by Hurricane Florence in 2018.

These images are of Margaret Wilson's home after the water receded. At one point the roof was completely submerged.

Like many of her neighbors, their insurance did not cover catastrophic flooding like this. So they've had to rely on God's grace and the support of many organizations to provide the help they need to rebuild their community.

Meet Ms. Margaret

Margaret Wilson lives in the Whitestocking community in Burgaw. This unique community is the home of 3 generations of a large and loving family. Virtually all the neighbors are also blood-kin and in-laws. Which made the flooding of 2018 even harder for them.

Margaret has a great sense of humor and is a lot of fun to be around. She has been a constant source of encouragement for those around her as they are all going through this difficult time. Her faith and involvement with her church family give her strength.
